Telehealth Services – Your Home Treatment Option
East Point Recovery is offering telehealth services for addiction recovery. The effects ofCovid-19 have shifted the abilities of many people to attend in-person drug or alcohol counseling. However, the need for these services, and for people just like you to receive the treatment that they need, hasn’t changed. Telehealth services are the answer for many.
Why go virtual? If you’re in quarantine, or if you’re just unable to leave your home, you can have access to the intensive outpatient therapy that we offer in our rehab centers. You may also receive a prescription for medication to help you detox, while you work through the steps of therapy to find sobriety.
Telemedicine includes working with counselors through phone calls and video chat and participating in virtual group therapy meetings. You’ll receive all the help and support that you would through in-person therapy, all from the comfort and privacy of your home.
Compassionate Counselors Working For You
The therapists and counselors at East Point Recovery are professionally trained to help people in all stages of addiction. Your therapy sessions include understanding the nature of addiction, and how drinking or using drugs often covers up trauma, grief, stress, or loss. You’ll also receive an evaluation for co-occurring mental health conditions, such as anxiety or depression, that often accompany addiction.
During your therapy sessions, you’ll receive support from others in the program, in a safe, confidential space where you can work through your feelings and have the support you need for success. Plus, you’ll have access to aftercare and relapse prevention, as well, helping you stay on your sober journey.
Therapy and Addiction Resources
Your addiction counseling services begin with an evaluation, that includes exploring which substances you use and the frequency of use. You may receive a prescription to help with the detox process, easing the physical pain that comes with withdrawals from alcohol or drugs. Then, you’ll start the therapy process, which can include both individual and group therapy.
As you progress in treatment, you may change the frequency of therapy sessions, and gradually reduce it to once per week. When you choose telemedicine for your therapy, you’ll have flexibility about session times, too, allowing you to still work or go to school.
Is Telehealth Right For Me?
Remote addiction therapy isn’t for everyone. If you have a severe drug or alcohol addiction, you may need partial hospitalization or medically supervised detox. If you aren’t confident in your living situation, that you won’t have the sober support you need, then you may benefit from inpatient rehab or a sober living house while you attend therapy sessions.
However, if you have work, school, or family commitments, and if you have a strong support network in your home, then attending virtual therapy sessions for your addiction may be the perfect fit. Speak with one of our compassionate addiction counselors about your situation to find the right fit for your treatment.
